Your kitchen’s recipes, out of the notebook and into the team’s hands
Most kitchens run on recipes written by hand: in the head chef’s notebook, in a stained binder, on the back of a delivery note. Kladde turns those pages into one recipe collection the whole team can use.
The problem with the notebook
A kitchen’s best recipes often exist in exactly one place: the head chef’s notebook. That works until the chef is on holiday, a new cook starts, or the book falls into the fryer. Typing everything up never happens, because there is always a service to cook.
Photograph the page, Kladde does the typing
Take a photo of a recipe page with your phone, or several pages of one recipe. Kladde reads the handwriting, including crossed-out amounts and notes in the margin, and lays out title, ingredients and steps. Anything it could not read with certainty is marked for you to check. In a professional recipe a wrong number is worse than a gap, so Kladde asks instead of guessing.
The photographed page stays attached to every recipe. If someone doubts a quantity, the original is one tap away.
Built for a working kitchen
- Search everything: find a recipe by title, ingredient, step or note.
- Scale portions: from 4 to 40 servings, grams turn into kilos by themselves.
- Cooking mode: big type, one step at a time, readable from across the counter, the screen stays on.
- The whole team: with Pro up to 3 people work from the same recipes. The owner invites the team by email.
- Translation on request: a copy of a recipe in another language for the brigade, while the original stays as written.
- PDF for the pass: print a single recipe, or the whole collection as a cookbook with chapters and cover.
- No signal in the cellar: scans wait on the phone and upload when you are back online.
Allergens and nutrition
For each recipe Kladde can estimate which of the 14 declarable allergens it contains and the nutrition per serving. It is an estimate: the kitchen checks and confirms it, and only confirmed allergens appear on shared pages and PDFs. Written recipes are also what Swiss law expects you to have when guests ask about allergens verbally; our guide allergen information in restaurants explains the rules.
Data in Switzerland, nothing locked in
The app and the recipes run on Swiss servers, photos are stored privately in EU data centres, and the AI providers that read the pages don’t train on them. All recipes can be exported as a file and every original photo as a ZIP, at any time.
What it costs
You start free with 20 credits; one handwritten page costs one credit. Kladde Pro costs CHF 39 a year and includes 500 credits, the team and the cookbook PDF. If your kitchen already has a Gemini or OpenAI account, the Connect plan (CHF 24 a year) reads recipes with your own key.
